Syahduddi dalam keterangan pers, dikutip Sabtu, 10 Juni 2023. Syahduddi menjelaskan pelaku mencoba meyakinkan korban dengan mengirimkan KTP dan swafoto KTP dari korban sebelumnya yang juga korban penipuan. Korban DA masuk perangkap, dan membeli tiket yang dibanderol Rp5,5 juta lewat metode pembayaran transfer melalui mobile banking. Setelah membayarkan sejumlah uang yang dimaksud, tiket Coldplay tidak kunjung diterima dan nomor handphone korban diblokir pelaku. Korban kemudian melapor ke Polsek Metro Tamansari Jakarta Barat. "Setelah pemeriksaan terhadap saksi dan korban, penyidik mendapatkan petunjuk berupa percakapan melalui aplikasi WhatsApp dengan pelaku. Selanjutnya, Unit Reskrim Polsek Metro Tamansari membentuk Tim Gabungan Opsnal dan Penyidik," ujarnya. Melalui penyelidikan, polisi mengendus keberadaan pelaku di Banyumanik, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Atas informasi tersebut tim gabungan melakukan penangkapan. Pelaku tidak melakukan perlawanan dan mengakui semua perbuatannya, selanjutnya ditahan di Mapolres Metro Jakarta Barat. "Kami mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak segan-segan melaporkan kasus-kasus penipuan semacam ini kepada pihak kepolisian. Entah itu terkait tiket konser, pertandingan bola, dan lainnya," tuturnya.
